Is there an age requirement for eyebrow microblading?
As
a Microblading artist, I would say , Microblading has increased in popularity
in recent years - with many people with fine or sparse eyebrows opting for the
almost pain free procedure. It allows customers to have more defined brows
without the use of pencil or brow powders. Brows can be changed to create
higher arches, longer 'tails' or just to pad of sparse areas. If it's
categorized as tattooing, then I don't think it can be done on a minor. 18
years minimum age requirement. Hope this will help you.

Since
it is basically a form of tattooing presumably the same age restrictions apply.
But those restrictions vary depending on where you live. And most areas have a
lower age limit with parental approval.

Microblading,
also known as Eyebrow Embroidery is a procedure categorized under permanent
makeup, but unlike traditional cosmetic tattooing, it is less invasive and is
considered semi-permanent. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on
skin type and skincare routine. Microblading can not be performed under 18
years of ages and also on pregnant and breast feeding mothers.

Because
it's technically tattooing and is permanent, I'd imagine most salons that offer
it allow those 18 and up, or 16 and up with parental consent. Since it's up and
coming, there is likely not yet an industry standard, nor rule set for each
state/province/country. Likely, you would need to call around and ask.
The
fact it can cost upwards of $800 probably inhibits most young people in any
case. I'm 30, and couldn't afford it.

Is there any requirement for eyebrow microblading? Is age a factor?
ReplyDeleteThis is interesting my younger sister wants to try eyebrow microblading but she is just 16 years old so I wonder if there is the requirement for eyebrow microblading.
